According to the Theater Historical Society of America, Chopin Theatre opened March 1918 and was designed by architects Worthmann & Steinbach. The nickelodeon orginally had 546 seats and was operated by Victor Bardonski. In 1923 it was renamed the Harding and seating capacity was expanded to 987. By 1931 it was called Chopin again but underwent another name change to the Pix Theater. The building is located across the Polish Triangle in the area once named Polish Downtown

In 2010, Ryan Martin rented a second floor with one room, and opened his very own theatre in Chicagos Wicker Park.

What was once a space without a name is now The Den Theatre, home to more active and performance and event space than any other building in the country.

Located on Chicagos iconic Lake Michigan shore, the Field Museum opened its current building to the public in 1921'but our story began years earlier.

Our collection grew out of items on display in the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition in the'White City.' The exposition delighted visitors with 65,000 exhibits filled with natural wonders and cultural artifacts, many of which later found a permanent home in Chicago at the newly created Field Columbian Museum. In January of 1974, in Highland Park, Illinois, Rick Argosh and Leslie Wilson approached their former high school classmate Gary Sinise about staging a production of Paul Zindel's And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little. Sinise had recently graduated from high school, and Rick and Leslie had one semester remaining. Steppenwolf co-founders Jeff Perry and Gary Sinise had met and become friends at Highland Park High School. Jeff was then attending college at Illinois State University where he had met co-founder Terry Kinney.

Located at Fullerton Avenue and Lake Shore Drive, Theater on the Lake is a historic building that offers breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Chicagos skyline. Designed in 1913 and constructed in 1920, Theater on the Lake, is a Prairie style structure constructed in brick with sweeping steel arched pavilions throughout. My show is about many things that interest me as a perspicacious gay man over 50 with an insatiable curiosity about this complex, crazy and oftentimes confusing life that I find myself living. The DJ DORAN SHOW covers everything from politics to entrepreneurship and alien abduction and everything in-between by engaging in thought provoking conversation and cerebral debate.

Affinity Community Services (Affinity) is a social justice organization that focuses on health and wellness, leadership development, and community building. Our core constituents are Black lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women and LGBTQ youth of African descent in the Chicago metropolitan area; however, much of our work addresses needs and issues related to the broader LGBTQ and Black communities.

Our MissionChicago House and Social Service agency serves individuals and families who are disenfranchised by HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ marginalization, poverty, homelessness, and/or gender nonconformity by providing housing, employment services, medical linkage and retention services, HIV prevention services, legal services and other supportive programs.

Cloud Gate is British artist Anish Kapoor's first public outdoor work installed in the United States.

The 110-ton elliptical sculpture is forged of a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, which reflect Chicagos famous skyline and the clouds above. A 12-foot-high arch provides a ""gate"" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives.

IntraSpectrum Counseling is a private, group psychotherapy practice of impressively educated, trained, and devoted psychologists, social workers, and licensed clinical professional counselors. In 1995, Tracy Baim of Lambda Publications and Kevin Boyer of Communications Management, Inc. saw a need for a local chamber of commerce dedicated to gay and lesbian owned businesses. Joined by three other business owners, they launched the Chicago Area Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. Their goal was to have 30 Members by the first organizational meeting in March 1996.

The Northalsted Business Alliance works diligently to maintain a safe and beautiful neighborhood for residents, business owners and visitors.

The 606 was a decade in the making.

As train traffic slowed on the Bloomingdale Line in the 1990s, attention turned to how the train line might be used to increase much-needed green space. The City of Chicago brought residents together to discuss an area of particular concern' Logan Square, a neighborhood that, at the time, had the least amount of open space per capita of any in Chicago.

The first Mens Room opened its doors in the Toronto Village in October 2014 focusing on mens fashion, grooming and fetish needs. Conceived to be a'One Stop Shop' for the urban man looking for the latest styles and high quality products, The Mens Room quickly established itself as a premier retail destination in the neighbourhood. Over the following year a barber shop and grooming studio were added to the original location to better serve our clientele while new retail stores were opened in Montreal and Chicago in 2016.

The chain is owned and operated by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a Los Angeles-based charity that provides medical, preventive, and educational resources for patients. AHF is the nation's largest non-profit HIV/AIDS healthcare, research, prevention, and education provider.
