Chicago-born artist Frederic Clay Bartlett created Bonnet House in 1920 on South Florida oceanfront land given to him and his second wife, Helen Louise Birch, by her father, Hugh Taylor Birch, a prominent Chicago attorney, real estate investor, and naturalist. It is easily the most asked question. We spent a short stint living in Washington Heights in Manhattan. As far as luck goes, we had an unusually great apartment ? one with a door man (trust us, that is a luxury in NYC) and a balcony (unheard of for what we paid) that overlooked the Hudson River at the George Washington Bridge. We spent a magical three years there before moving back to South Florida. The apartment number was, you guessed it: 9F.

Formerly Galanga Thai Kitchen & Sushi Bar, a longtime favorite for Asian cuisine in Wilton Manors, is no more. The restaurant at 2389 Wilton Drive has changed its name to Thai Me Up, a risqué and perhaps risky identity transformation after 17 years.
